Love is not only blind but ceases your scenes too. It can cause more than you think. The 66-year old retired banker realized this say after he lost his money by falling in love with someone online.
Gurugram,DFL-1: The 66 year old man lost his 35 lakh of amount over his Facebook friend. The old man was in love with his online friend and so he lent her the money. The old man claimed that she was coming from London just to meet him and she had some sort of money problem.He also added the she had been detained at Mumbai airport by immigration official for the lack of documents and so he was trying to help his newly found girlfriend.
From where it all started:
On May 19, the aged got a friend request on facebook from a lady named Jenny Anderson. He accepted it. They started talking and soon Jenny asked to exchange the numbers. The day they exchanged the numbers they started talking through whatsapp.
Jenny claimed she was single and lived with her mother in London where she owned a jewellery shop. She said that she travelled to many countried including India often to procure gold. The old man alleged.
On May 26, according to the old man the lady was planning to celebrate the 11th anniversary of her shop and she wanted to invite him as well. She asked him for his address as well as she said she wanted to send him some gifts. He gave her the address and pardon her that he won’t be able to visit London as he lives alone.
On day 29th, he received an unexpected call from her that she is visiting India just to meet him.”Jenny said she would board the flight on June 1 and will land to Mumbai. From Mumbai she will take the connecting flight to Delhi. She also said that she is visiting India not only to procure her gold but she wanted to see me. She also asked me that can she stay at my house along with her photo with boarding flight on whatsapp,”said the old man.
It all started from June 1 when he received a call from a woman named Pooja, from immigration department at Mumbai airport. Pooja gave him the information about Jenny that she has landed to Mumbai but was not allowed to board the flight to Delhi as she lacked two mandatory documents that were, the first she was carrying foreign currency worth Rs 65 lakhs without any valid documents and second was that she was lacking her health certificate. Pooja then handed the phone call to Jenny. She was crying and she requested his to pay the fine as she only knew him in the country India along with the promise thats she will pay him back. Reported the retired man.
He said that Pooja and another man named Kumar Sen from Delhi airport authority kept him calling over the few nex days. The duo threatened to file a case against him to offence Jenny.The old man made about 20 transactions. He deposited Rs 35 lakhs to different accounts provided by the lady named Jenny from June 1 till June 15. But Jenny never came to visit him all again.
After all his attempts to reach her, he failed. He finally filed a case against this situation. He filed the complaint at DFL-1 Police Station.
What was the response of Police?
“We have received a complaint in this regard and are probing the case with the help of cyber crime cell,” said the senior officer at DFL-1 Police Station.
