Prime Minister’s elections held in Pakistan, yesterday. And as per the early counting, former cricketer and Pakistani politician, Imran Khan is getting the majority.
However, the elections got interrupted in Quetta, by a suicide bomber.
A huge number of Pakistani voters lined up to vote yesterday. A suicide bomber in Quetta, attacked the polling station. Quetta is a northwestern Pakistani city. 31 people were dead and 40 people remained wounded, in this bombing incident. One of the voters, who witnessed the whole incident, said that the bomber came riding a bike into the masses of the voting people.
The counting of 47% of the polling stations has been done. Imran Khan led Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has swiftly won 113 seats of 272 national assembly constituencies. Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) has 64 seats till now. And, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) could get 43 seats, respectively.
Imran Khan who is the former cricket player of Pakistan. Imran was the captain of Pakistan’s cricket team form the year 1982. And, Pakistan won its first and only Cricket World Cup of 1992, under his captaincy. He also founded his political party Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) in the year 1996.
The party of the last Prime Minister Nawaz Shareef, has rejected the results and claimed that there had been manipulation and vote rigging. “The way the people’s mandate has blatantly been insulted, it is intolerable,” said Shehbaz Sharif. Sharif is the brother of the former Prime Misnister, Nawaz Shareef and a leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N).
